The Hull House was designed by Richard Sundeleaf and built in 1938 with an exterior of cedar shakes, which ideally fits in with the locale. Landscaping on the front side includes a spacious lawn, indigenous trees, paths and rockery; on either side of the house lie flower gardens with set-aside quiet sitting areas for reading and meditation; the westside's almost 180-degree ocean exposure area includes a lawn for volleyball, badminton, or croquet, and swings, teeter totters, and a protected area with table and benches for picnics including a large pot for open fire roasting. Comfortable and relaxing, this area is especially recommended for ocean gazing?nap taking is usually irresistible, but be sure to waken in time for the beautiful sunsets.
