Long Beach Peninsula Washington Area Description

Long Beach Peninsula Washington area picture      A 28-mile peninsula with more sandcastle building material than you will ever know what to do with. The Long Beach Peninsula is a terrific vacation destination. There are a number of unique towns that make this Peninsula one of the favorite spots to visit in Washington. The peninsula is between 2 and 5 miles wide and is pinned between Willapa Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Towns on this peninsula include Illwaco, Seaview, Ocean Park, Nahcotta, and Oysterville and Long Beach. NWcoast.com includes accommodations for all of these destinations.
There are some terrific sites to visit in this area. South of Long Beach is Fort Canby State Park, North Head Lighthouse and Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. The views from each of these locations are breathtaking; a camera is a must when visiting. Cape Disappointment has the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center that details the historical journey, the lighthouse and other relics from times of war and history.
In an environment saturated with natural beauty and history, the go-carts, art shops, horseback riding, fine restaurants, and fishing charters; it makes for an area with something for everyone. There is so much to do and see that you could spend a week here and still miss a thing or two.
